Where Cofy is going
Every energy community needs the same foundations: its members’ data, tariffs, bills, and signals that tell members when to use energy. Cofy makes those foundations one open engine, so no community has to build them alone and no single vendor owns them.
This page describes where we’re heading, not when. What we’re working on right now is in the GitHub issues.
Bills that reward local energy
Cofy already calculates complete energy bills. Next, those bills can reward members for using energy when the community produces it: fees based on simultaneity, the share of local production that members use as it’s produced.
- Solar production
- Used locally: 56%
- Consumption
What comes after
Communities see their own data
More ways for a community and its members to see their own data, building on the dashboards EnergyID already offers.
A grid that can flex
Limiting production or consumption when the grid needs it, and steering devices through signals and real-time data.
Open to every tool
More data sources, the console in more languages, and Cofy’s data available to AI agents.
How we decide
We build Cofy in the open, together with the communities and suppliers that use it. New ideas start as a prototype with a customer who needs them, and become part of Cofy once they work.
